About Raphael’s Retreat
We are situated on 25 acres where we live, enjoy our recreational organic gardens, hike trails, walk along our peaceful creek and survey the abundance of wildlife that is naturally provided. You will discover beauty both inside and outside in a uniquely crafted home built by reusing, recycling and re-purposing. The site offers a large covered veranda and an outdoor grilling area. Experience our retreat.
Currently we are open for weddings, reunions, business meetings and luncheons.
This site was established in the early 1800’s as a Grist Mill. The mill was sold in the late 1800’s to Dr. Sweat, where he passed the property to his family through five generations, each a doctor. The Sweat Family sold the property to the Granville Lyons family in the 1960’s. Around 1975, Walter Robb II purchased the property and he and his wife, Rita, raised their eight children there. Currently the property is owned by Sam and Monika (Robb) Bennett.
Peace and tranquility is our greatest asset. We can offer a starry night sky at no additional charge. Nature is bountiful from song birds and crickets to observing the deer and squirrels in their own environment. You can sit if you’d like or walk the creek bank or scale the hills. We invite you to experience all that nature has afforded in our own piece of heaven, right here on Earth.
